In a previous post, I wrote about the 3 key metrics that impact the success of social media prospecting. One important metric is the response rate to your content from your social networks. When content is replied to or retweeted by a connection in your social networks, that content is in turned shared to his or her social network, enabling you to extend your reach to potential prospects outside of your network. Crafting content that is likely to be re-shared is important for social media prospecting success. In Dan Zarella‘s research of tweets, he found that tweets containing links and fresh content such as news were more likely to be re-tweeted. How are professionals in financial planning, insurance, accounting and real estate creating tweets that retweet? Here’re (i) Twitter posts that were retweeted more than 10 times & (ii) posts retweeted more than 100 times.
